Sourcing Rules During Project Setup

How to use source preferences and blocklists while configuring a video project.

Sourcing rules help VidBlitz understand what kinds of visuals are acceptable for a project.

Where to Set Sourcing Rules

You can set sourcing preferences in two places:

  • Brand Profiles, for reusable channel defaults.
  • Project setup, for one specific video.

Project setup choices apply to the current project. They do not automatically change the saved Brand Profile.

Source Preferences

Use source preferences to tell VidBlitz which types of visuals are acceptable for the project. Choose settings that match your rights, editorial, and brand standards.

Blacklisted Sources

Use the blacklist to avoid sources, sites, channels, or creators you do not want used. Add one item per line and keep entries specific.

Examples:

  • A competitor channel.
  • A site your team does not trust.
  • A creator whose style does not fit your brand.
  • Any source you know should not appear in your videos.

Motion and Transition Blocklists

You can also block motion graphic categories, individual motion templates, or transition styles that do not fit the channel.

Use stricter blocklists for serious documentary, crime, finance, or policy channels. Use broader options for listicles, entertainment explainers, and faster-paced channels.

Current Limitations

Creative Commons and public-domain preferences may be saved for future use where shown, but dedicated source support for that option is still being expanded.
