Use the Editor Toolbar, Canvas, and Timeline

How to navigate the editor, filter media by shape, manage the timeline, save versions, and export.

Use the VidBlitz editor to build a blank-canvas project or polish a generated video after an editable timeline is ready.

Main Areas

Canvas: preview the current frame.
Timeline: arrange visuals, captions, narration, music, and other layers over time.
Editor panels: add media, text, audio, and Animated Scenes.
Inspector: adjust the selected item.
Top toolbar: save, review tasks, export, restore versions, and save and close.

Timeline Basics

Timeline clips show a name and type icon to help you identify media, text, audio, and Animated Scenes.

Select an item to move, trim, split, resize, style, mute, lock, or edit it when those controls are available.

Scroll normally to move up or down through timeline tracks.
Hold Shift while scrolling to move left or right through time.
Hold Command on Mac or Ctrl on Windows while scrolling to zoom.

The timeline stays in place when you only hover over it. You can also collapse or resize it when you need more canvas space.

Find Media That Fits

The stock and project-library panels can filter visual media by:

Landscape 16:9.
Portrait 9:16.
Square 1:1.
All ratios.

The filter starts with the project shape so results are easier to judge. Media tiles use the selected shape while the filter is active.

Stock tabs show the media types available from the selected library. A tab is hidden when that library does not offer that type.

Add Several Files

Drag several supported files into the media library, canvas, or timeline. VidBlitz uploads a small batch at a time and keeps the selected file order when placing the items on the timeline.

Wait for uploads to finish before saving.

Canvas Recovery

If one timeline item cannot be displayed, the editor keeps the rest of the canvas available and marks the affected item. You can select, replace, or remove that item without losing the full preview.

Save and Restore Versions

Use Save to create a project version. The editor confirms when the version is saved.

Open Project versions from the top toolbar to view manual save points. Choose Restore on the version you want to return to.

Save and close also protects the latest editor state before leaving.

Missing Visuals

A generated timeline can show an Image needed or Video needed placeholder. Replace every remaining placeholder with suitable media before your final render.

Export

Open Export to start a render or download the latest completed one. Render history lists previous completed renders and lets you download or delete them.
